After I had four different trustworthy people give me feedback, I feel confident that I am going with something like this nursery. I completely agree-it's soothing, simplistic, and according to my amazing mother at 3:00 a.m. I will want a soothing atmosphere with a fussy baby. Very good point. My husband liked it too, so we are set. The others are too busy (good call Laura), and would eventually drive me nuts without a doubt. And Jen, I love your honesty, "It's a nursery, not a formal dining room for the Prince of Persia." Lol, that was awesome.
Whew. With that settled, now I just have to tackle the To Do List:
- Clean guest room out
- Move piano and desk to another room (well, that's Grant's job)
- Take junk to Goodwill
- Organize baby stuff
- Set a budget
- Sew bedding
- Have a baby!
And the fun part. The Shopping List:
- Crib
- Mattress
- Fabric
- Dresser
- Lamp, picture frames, other decorative items (or supplies to make my own)
- Something to organize baby toys, books, etc.
I was dreading all of this, but now that I have a plan I am ready to get started.
Thanks for your help!
Yay! I'm so excited that everything is on track now. In three weeks, school will be pretty much over and I'll be free to help you with anything. =) You're less than 4 months away!
ReplyDeleteI was going to comment on your last post, but didn't get around to it. Anyway, I would have said the same thing...I liked the first style best of the three. Looks like you're all set to go on setting up your nursery now :) You're 'to do' lists were great. I always enjoy making list like that (though I don't always enjoy completely the work I list out ;)

By the way, the word was supposed to be "completing" in the last sentence of my comment. Not "completely". =)
